Our Philosophy
Our story began with one blend.
Our beliefs guide them all.
Choonie's is built on four beliefs about skin, the body, nature, and the self. They aren't marketing principles. They came from lived experience — from a journey that began with skin and led somewhere far deeper than skincare.
Your Skin Tells a Story
The skin speaks in texture, tone, and balance — revealing what the whole self is holding.
Nature is Intelligent
Science imitates what nature does organically. We choose to let nature do what it was created to do.
The Body is Sacred
Worthy of genuine care. Capable of renewal. Not maintenance — care.
Emotions Live Skin Deep
Healing isn't only what you apply. What you carry inside shows up on your face.
We believe care begins from within. Your skin reflects the state of your whole self — mind, body, and spirit. Our blends are made from whole plants and pure botanicals, never synthetic, never preserved with additives. Nature already holds the blueprint for healing. We simply let it do what it was created to do.
Your Skin
Tells a Story
The skin speaks — in texture, tone, and balance. It reveals what the body, mind, and spirit are holding. Not just what you've been putting on it, but what you've been carrying inside it.
Around 50, Beverly's skin began telling her something she hadn't been listening to. The elasticity was going. The dullness wasn't lifting. Fine lines were deepening — not just from the passing of years, but from grief she had been carrying for a long time. The discovery, fifteen years after her mother's death, of what her mother had silently survived made that grief harder and heavier.
The grief etched itself into her face. The rage deepened her frown lines. She saw it happening — and understood that her skin wasn't just aging. It was telling the story of everything she was holding.
"The skin speaks — in texture, tone, and balance. It reveals what the body, mind, and spirit are holding."
Nature is
Intelligent
Science often tries to imitate what nature does organically. The synthetic compounds in most skincare products are attempts — sometimes effective, often not — to replicate what plants have been doing for thousands of years.
Plants aren't primitive precursors to modern skincare. They are the intelligence itself.
The Choonie's approach leans into the knowledge of cultures that never abandoned botanical healing: the Korean traditions of Beverly's mother's heritage, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic practice. Wisdom that predates the lab by millennia. We don't add nature as a footnote to a synthetic formula. Nature is the formula.
"Nature provides everything we need. We simply choose to honor its wisdom through whole, living botanicals."
The Body
is Sacred
Your body is not a problem to be managed. It is not a project to be optimized. It is capable of renewal — and it is worthy of genuine care. Not maintenance. Not management. Care.
Most skincare positions the body as something that needs to be corrected. Fine lines are flaws. Dry skin is a failure. Aging is something to be fought. Choonie's starts from a completely different premise: your body already knows how to restore itself. It has always known. What it needs is not interference. It needs support.
Every application of a Choonie's botanical is an act of care — of honoring what your skin and body was designed to do. You are worthy of luxury botanical skincare. That's why Choonie's was built to be accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford the boutique price tag.
The scripture says the leaves are for the healing of the nations. All of them.
"Your body is capable of renewal and worthy of care. Every act of rest, nourishment, and compassion brings it closer to balance."

Skin Deep
Healing isn't only something you apply to your skin. This is the belief that took the longest to earn — and the one Beverly carries most personally.
When her mother died, Beverly mourned. When she discovered, fifteen years later, that her mother had survived years of domestic violence in her second marriage, the grief transformed into a rage she had not expected to feel.
She watched it happen on her face. The frown lines deepened. The tension settled around her eyes. It is not only grief and rage that write themselves onto the face. Shame does too. Guilt does too. These are not abstract emotional states — they are physical. They live in the jaw, around the eyes, in the forehead. They compress and contract. They age us faster than time does.
The decision to pursue peace — to work toward forgiveness, not for his sake but for her own — lifted something. Beverly will tell you she is still working on it. That is the truth, offered without apology. Forgiveness is not a destination you arrive at once. It is a direction you keep choosing. And each time she chooses it, she sees what it does.
The botanicals matter. The ingredients matter. And so does what you carry. When you calm the heart, the body listens — and the skin reflects.
"Forgiveness softens hard lines. Gratitude restores light. Belief reminds the body it is capable of renewal."
— Beverly, FounderSkincare that starts
with the whole self.
And goes from there.
These four beliefs aren't separate pillars. They are one idea, approached from four directions. The skin tells you what the body is holding. Nature already holds the intelligence to help. The body is sacred enough to receive that help. And what you carry emotionally is part of the formula too.
Every Choonie's product is made inside this understanding — botanicals chosen because they work, formulas built because the body deserves them, and a brand that exists because one woman discovered that restoration ran deeper than she expected.
Read our Story"The leaves of the trees are for the healing of the nations."
This is the verse that anchors Choonie's — the belief that nature was created with the capacity to heal, that this capacity belongs to everyone, and that our role is simply to honor it.
It is also why Beverly built the brand to be accessible. Healing was never meant to be a luxury. It was meant to be available to the nations — all of them.
